On Wednesday, December 18th, the United Way of Story County awarded Becker Underwood with the Star Performance Award as well as the Highest Percentage Increase Award for its contribution to the United Way campaign. The Star Performance Award recognizes those businesses with outstanding and unique campaign efforts. Through their contributions, Becker Underwood employees were eligible for prize baskets, sports tickets, gift certificates, and a day of paid vacation. Some employees were even graced by the musical talents of CEO Roger Underwood, President Peter Innes, and CFO Bill Fuller at an early morning breakfast!
The Highest Percentage Increase Award was given to those companies that increased their donations by 50% or more compared to the previous year. This year the employees of Becker Underwood raised $6,348 for the United Way campaign between September 16th and October 15th. This year’s campaign was a huge success and marked the first year that over one million dollars was raised for United Way supported programs in Story County, Iowa.
