Becker Underwood, Inc., a leading manufacturer of bio-agronomic and specialty chemical products, announces the purchase of the U.S. based specialty seed coatings company, Seedbiotics. The recent acquisition unites Becker Underwood’s existing seed coating and polymer technologies and expertise with Seedbiotics’ proven coating and polymer operations. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Seedbiotics was founded in 1989 and is based in Caldwell, Idaho and is managed by Greg Waibel. Primary markets served by the company’s coating operations include the alfalfa, clover and grass seed industries through its coating operations as well as row crop and specialty crops through its polymer business.

The Seedbiotics acquisition closely follows Becker Underwood’s recent purchase of the Sepiret range of seed coating products from the French based specialty chemical producer, Seppic. Becker Underwood also purchased U.S. based Urbana Laboratories as part of the Seedbiotics deal.
